It's that time of year again: resolution time. I've never really gotten into making New Year's Resolutions, but this year I thought I'd give it a try. Here are my top 10 resolutions for 2014:
9. Join a sorority: My college has a number of non-traditional sororities that are all Spring Rush. I plan on rushing Delta Kappa Nu this semester and can't wait for all the crafts, service, and sisterhood.
8. Go to the gym frequently: As cliche as it is, I am making "the gym resolution". I have no intention of gaining the "Freshman 15" and plan on working hard to prevent it from happening. Cafeteria food be darned!
7. Get a great GPA: My GPA for Fall Semester was pretty good, but I'm still looking for improvement. I'd like to finish out my Freshman year strong and end my year with as little stress as possible for finals week.
6. Drink more water: Not only is water great for your health in general but it is also great for your skin. I drink a fair amount of water daily, but I'd like to start consistently drinking more. I just feel so much better when I'm hydrated! Karen Wilmes from kouponkaren.com created this free printable water intake calendar to help track your water intake for 2014. I plan on using it for motivation:
5. Stop the stress fighting!: When I am under large amounts of stress I tend to do something I like to call "stress fighting". I get aggravated easily and end up causing stupid disagreements with the people I'm closest to. It seems to be my body's unconscious attempt to burn off steam. I want to stop this all together in 2014 because not only is it not fair to those closest to me but it's also not a healthy way to deal with my stress.
4. Post more pictures on Instagram: I follow so many people on Instagram who post such beautiful pictures and I think: Wow! I wish my life was that interesting! This year I plan on posting less pictures of my dog and more pictures of the things that inspire me. Sorry, Maddie!
3. Watch more YouTube and less Netflix: Although I love Netflix and have a serious addiction to the Vampire Diaries series (I'm almost done season 4), I love how much I can learn from YouTube and how personal all the channels are. Here are some of my favorites, be sure to check them out: glamourkate08, Sarah Belle, missglamorazzi, Meghan Rosette, MakeupByTiffanyD, NikkiPhillippi, and (of course) TheEllenShow.
2. Schedule my time: Every hour of the day is valuable and I plan to start scheduling my time to try and get the most out of every single hour of day light. Plus there are tons of cute planners that make scheduling oh so much more enjoyable. These are a few of my favorites:
Kate Spade 2014 17-month agenda | Lilly Pulitzer 2014 Luxe Agenda | The 2014 Simplified Planner | 17-month agenda Jonathan Adler | Kikki K. 2014 Daily Diary | Kate Spade 2014 17-month agenda
1. Have a positive attitude: Attitude is everything. This year, I want to focus more on the positive things in my life. In the words of Captain Jack Sparrow, "The problem is not the problem; the problem is your attitude about the problem". I've let my attitude get the best of me way too many times this past year and I plan on really working to change that about myself. No one likes a negative Nelly!
So those are a few of my resolutions for the upcoming year. What resolutions did you make for 2014?
XOXO,
